How do you know if it's broken??

It's very very easy to know - usually they'll tell you, at least he did. When I came and found him on the gravel bleeding from his head, he said "Mom, I broke my arm". Of course he was wearing a thick jacket in August - with no shirt underneath, so I just replied "Oh...okay". I carried him inside - with only a little bit of crying, cleaned his head up (you know how those head wounds bleed and make such a mess!)....took off the jacket and there was the floppy "Harry Potter arm". Broken.

This dear rascal has officially used up his hospital visits for the next 10 years.

Busy day today...really crazy day yesterday. We're off to get a cast, dentist appointment and soccer starts today.

I want to crawl back in bed.

Oh Happy (happy) Day.

He was so very happy. He had waited very patiently for HIS day to arrive (okay - who am I kidding I had to find a playdate for him EVERY single day last week!!) But the day finally arrived and he was ecstatic to find out that Parker, Ben AND Taft (yes-Taffy, someday this image will put a big smile on all of our faces) were all going to be at HIS school. Rumor has it that he spent some time in "time-out" on the first day...he denied it...I'll have to confirm this with his teacher :) My "time-out" went a little too quickly and I didn't seem to accomplish much. Not a problem we have 3 days next week...and the week after...

(I need to add that Mr. Mac has been quite the poser lately...whenever I have my camera out he basically commands his own photoshoot with his own posing and locations...hiLArious! there's that reverse psychology at work :)

Little Mitch - Sneak Peek

I just returned from the valley - visiting my dear friend Elizabeth. We laughed - we cried, and we took pictures. LOTS and lots of pictures - I'll post more later...and of course - he looks just like his father.

Crossfit Games 2010

Last month while in California, we packed up the kids and dusted off the sand from the beach and headed up to my family reunion in Utah. On our way, we had to make a little stop-off for Matt/work.
The Crossfit Games - 2010
It was held at the Home Depot Center in LA (where the Galaxy (soccer) play - I think :)
It was really really toasty. We knew the kids weren't going to last very long - but boy oh boy was it insane. We were able to watch the team competitions and I've never seen women do so many pull-ups in my life. My new year's resolution from a few years ago never came to fruition :( There is a serious cult-following here. The truly HARD-CORE people are cross-fitters. That's all I'm sayin'. Totally gnarly. I included a link on the background of the company above - quite interesting.

So we survived the trip across Death Valley at 3pm (whose bright idea was that??!#$%). We rolled in to Salt Lake and woke up the next day ready to celebrate Tia's birthday. We couldn't decide which cupcakes to try...so we tried ALL of them. Did I mention why we have to cross-fit?

Mac 'n Me.

Matt has taken the kids to Flagstaff for the weekend and I've been working furiously at my desk. McLaren just came in and in a desperate attempt to NOT make dinner for us, I thought I'd let him pick where we would GO to eat:

Mom: So Smacky - its just YOU and me (and Ella). Where would you like to eat?
Mac: Ummm...we could eat in the tree-house? OR we could build a fort and eat in there?

I've got to work on my communication skillz.

Mesa Arizona Temple

(*in light of a certain brother's razzing...I thought I'd post a few more images...my own little take on the temple through time...take your pic-all are down loadable big files...I even named it in case you forgot what it's called.)
Present Day:

1970s
1950s
1800s (okay...I don't think it was even built then :)

I promised a friend a few years ago a picture of the Mesa Arizona Temple. Here it is - in all its glory. Feel free to click on the image and save it to your computer (yes - I'm giving you permission to save and print this :) It should be about 4mb, which will allow you to print it LARGE - if you have any problems, email me at megan@holdsworthphotography.com and I can email it to you.
Although I don't make it there as often as I should...I can still draw peace from the image (even when my #3 is screaming from his room open the door!).
