Finally 4!

I tell you we waited a LONG time for this birthday to roll around. I believe we started the build-up and anticipation about 8 months ago. Whenever he'd see something at (insert location of choice - the store, on tv, at a friends house...) he'd quickly say, "Mom can I get that for my birthday???" And I'd say "Sure!!" (then smile and walk away). It was great. So when the birthday was on about a 2 month countdown he'd say, "Mom I want a Power Ranger birthday" or a "Skateboard birthday" (naming his party after the one special object that he desired at that particular nano-second of the day.) So this 4 year old birthday was frequently referred to as the "Power Ranger - Scooter - Spiderman Birthday". We celebrated low-key and found some friends/family to join us for a cool and quiet evening at the school baseball field. He picked out his cupcake toppers (we had to switch it up from cake the day before :) and had a grand time. His mom even let him sneak cupcakes in to Sunbeams!

**Forgot to add that the next day he asked "Mom, when will I be 5? and can I get (insert object of choice) for my 5th birthday?!!!**

And what would a birthday party be without a special private haircutting to get ready for the big day??? Mac-a-doos did a little snip-a-roo!! Matt couldn't bring himself to buzz it off since it took 8 months for the last one to grow out, but after a day at church and the attempted blending not blending - we decided that the buzz was the only option...ahh well - its summer.
