Mac 'n Me.

Matt has taken the kids to Flagstaff for the weekend and I've been working furiously at my desk. McLaren just came in and in a desperate attempt to NOT make dinner for us, I thought I'd let him pick where we would GO to eat:

Mom: So Smacky - its just YOU and me (and Ella). Where would you like to eat?
Mac: Ummm...we could eat in the tree-house? OR we could build a fort and eat in there?

I've got to work on my communication skillz.

Mesa Arizona Temple

(*in light of a certain brother's razzing...I thought I'd post a few more images...my own little take on the temple through time...take your pic-all are down loadable big files...I even named it in case you forgot what it's called.)
Present Day:

1970s
1950s
1800s (okay...I don't think it was even built then :)

I promised a friend a few years ago a picture of the Mesa Arizona Temple. Here it is - in all its glory. Feel free to click on the image and save it to your computer (yes - I'm giving you permission to save and print this :) It should be about 4mb, which will allow you to print it LARGE - if you have any problems, email me at megan@holdsworthphotography.com and I can email it to you.
Although I don't make it there as often as I should...I can still draw peace from the image (even when my #3 is screaming from his room open the door!).

Ironic.

Ella has finally been sleeping soundly through the night and our next door neighbors seem to have stumbled upon a problem with their car alarm going off at 4am....EVERY....MORNING. This first night...Matt and I panicked and thought our car was being stolen AGAIN. Hmm....at least she sleeps through it.

Indy has taken to his piano lessons like nothin' else. He's obsessed...he wants to coach his little sister who seems to care less about the piano. I only make this note because I'm sure next week he'll be done...so I prefer to relish in the nano-second moment.

Urban Senior (High School) Photography - Prescott, AZ

I must explain the need for clarification on the "Senior" title. I had several people ask me if I get a lot of "senior" business...they were extremely interested on how I would handle a session with a grandma and grandpa.

I gently explained that "senior" photography is for High. School. Seniors. So now, I have this little voice in the back of my head every time I say "seniors" that tells me I should clarify :)

Here's my first senior session for the graduating class of 2011. I'm taking suggestions for great slogans...I think they feel that last years group had a better looking year.
I should also mention that Ian is my McLaren fast-forwarded 13 years. When Mac was about 6 months old my friend told me that her little girl asked why they had a picture of Mac hanging on their wall :)

It's the MOST wonderful time of the year!

Indy is modeling his killer new backpack.

Smack-a-roni is home with mom :) and Ella - the screamer (of course..she only screams when he comes near!)

Okay...that maybe a slight exaggeration.

I would like to say that we did more than just survive this summer...we played, read, swam, worked and thoroughly enjoyed it. We sucked every possible ounce of action out of this summer - right up until 9pm the night before the first day of school. True, my grand plans in May always seem to fizzle by summers end, but I'm okay with that - everyone was happy and excited for school to start - AND we even were there early.

Newport Beach Photography

My schedule was rearranged a bit this summer, but I was able to get in one session in Newport. And BOY (get it? just wait...you will...) was it a good session. 4 boys, one little girl (who moves faster than any of her brothers!) and 2 loving parents. I was so sad that I didn't bring my Diana Ross sheet music "If we hold on together"...I wanted to take a picture of Gabby holding it - I can still see us in our little high school music room watching the end of "Land Before Time" listening to the song she had found and that I would get to accompany her on the piano. She has a beautiful voice - doesn't she look like a beautiful singer...in her beautiful red dress? And she has the cutest family (hello! look at their shoes?!!) and its crazy to think that almost 15 years has gone by and we can pick up like we never missed a beat. My family loves Gabby (and all her sisters)...and I absolutely MUST have a picture like this in my house!!!

Life is crazy...better enjoy it...(and eat chocolate boogers...don't ask me...but it sure made her boys laugh.)
