L.A. Baby - Newborn Photography

I was near L.A. a few weeks ago and was able to do a family newborn session for some friends of my brother.  Not quite sure what is up with my "anthropologie" themed shoots lately, but I do have to add some validation here... this time we have a past employee of anthropologie AND a current set designer for Urban Outfitters.
I know.
Way. Too. Cool. For. Me.
This first image took my breath away - oh how I love it so so much.

Can I tell you how awesome it was to have an "assistant"??

Trick or Treat - BOO!

We had a wonderful Halloween.  Normally I am very vocal about how much I despise this "holiday".  But this year I laid the costumes out well ahead of time...Laina tried to change her mind only 5 times...Mac thought he could change his mind about the face paint "after" it was on...and Indy finally got to be something creepy...so it made for a great day!  I think the Halloween pics on my doorstep are my favorite annual images of all.

Mt. Vernon...wonderful!

Indy was a little tired hauling his crutches around

This little ghost Kayla (Drew Barrymore??) was so stinkin' cute - She's say "trick or treat" and then as they were putting candy in her basket she'd say "BOO!"

Can you believe there's another Laina in this world? I think she's spells hers differently tho...and of course our favorite Abby!

My long lost friend Cristin connected me with her sister-in-law Trine who is here while her husband finished his physical therapy internship - we've loved having them.

And now a moment of silence...I have no idea what possessed him to: 1) Buy a giant wiener and, 2) Wear the purchased wiener to the most populated street on Halloween night.
Gotta love my "Diamond Dog" (although I have mention that the package gave specific instructions on how to "stuff" the costumes so they would wear correctly...Matt was not into the stuffing...

Came all the way from Phoenix to join in the fun...with the cutest bumble bee ever...
It's been a long day...hair and makeup are done.

Ben & Candy!! Ella is in heaven.

Thank you David.

Fifty Fabulous Fun Frolicking YEARS

It is quite the achievement in this day and age to be able to celebrate 50 years together.  Matt's mom and dad rang it in this year and we were there to celebrate with them.

Kate did a wonderful job of organizing and bringing some wonderful mementos of the occasion.  Lynda made her own wedding dress - she's a very talented seamstress - and we enjoyed the stories they told of their engagement and actual wedding day - complete with Grant driving through the night to California and being pulled over by an officer ;)

We went around the room and all of the kids gave their earliest and/or favorite memory of their parents.  It truly was a wonderful evening.

Mike read a wonderful letter to his parents - it gave voice to how we all feel about their examples and the life they have created.
FREEZE FRAME - what would a Holdsworth gathering be without an attack on the  older boys? Grantos was MIA so Micky had to take it all by himself...

 Here's to another 50!!!

Mr. C - Prescott High School Graduation Photography

I loved the guitar.  I loved that he obliged his mother - and came gracefully - even though he was kicking and screaming inside!  OF COURSE the session went painlessly...OF COURSE he ended up enjoying himself...OF COURSE we finished in record time!

Happy Birthday Grandpa.

We love spending your birthday with you - it's the Happiest Time of the Year in the Happiest Place Ever...and that's a pretty darn "happy" shirt you have on...
(we are all going to act like this "well-wishing" took place yesterday - and a late shout out to my aunt Alisa and lovely Lex and spot on for my Gma - too bad you all don't have a picture of El smoochin' you!)
