Lifestyle Session

I absolutely LOVE lifestyle sessions.  Mom is happy because she has everything at her fingertips (combs, clothes, food etc.)  Kids are happy because they get to show off their toys and favorite places to play...and Dad is happy because...he can join in at the last possible second and then hi-tail-it the second the session is over!
The Brown's have a KILLER yard.  We never had a dull moment as we hopped from scene to scene.  We were able to get a snack and jump on the bed and run around outside and swing from a tree...and...and...and..
BUT let's start with a little riddle:

What does a KID Dentist read to his kids? Duh.

With 3 older brothers this little gal has to be able to run with the big dogs...and she does...and is usually leading the charge.
 My ABSOLUTE FAVORITE(s)!!!
"Do I HAVE to hold HIS arm?"

HA!! Yeah right.

This last one makes me *sigh*....

October

Every year October comes whirling around and I have a tiny bit of sadness/anxiety creep in.  I am plagued with thoughts such as "It is already October {-insert date of choice-} and I haven't made ANYTHING with pumpkin in it!!" or "Fall is here and I've yet to actually BAKE anything...let alone BAKE something with pumpkin or apple or *insert any fall baking item here*".
Yes, this is ridiculous.  Yes, these thoughts cause me to stay up at night.  Yes, I'm only 8 days into October and instead of actually doing it - I've decided to write about it (or this year "PIN" it) - I stopped working right now - just to post this.  I was so desperate I had a friend go out and buy me a pumpkin candle yesterday (I was working :) - so until I actually get around to baking - and then around to cleaning up after it...this will have to do.
(Thank you dear friend...it smells wonderful and is totally working to "fake" me out.)

GUEST Author

I couldn't bring myself to write tonight - I've still got the "deer in the headlights" so Matt volunteered to take one for the team... (although for the record I would've titled this GO BIG OR GO HOME - and made some mention of Indy's winning the City's Cross-Country meet for 5th graders last week only to be slammed to the sidelines this week...)

Keeping with our fall tradition of injuries, Indy has decided to make a 2011 entry from an impromptu football game at Megan's music reunion in Yuma. Internet research indicates that football players occasionally get this injury, often when they have their foot pointing down and someone lands on their heel. In this case Indy was taken down by an older boy and another kid fell on his foot.

Our friend Scott Price is a foot doctor and he told us he has a Lisfranc joint injury. The incidence of Lisfranc joint fracture dislocations is one case per 55,000 persons each year, so Indy continues to defy the odds. Because the injuries are so rare, Dr. Price will probably refer us to a specialist (think large $), and because Indy is a kid, he'll have to be a kid specialist also (more $).

Because we just saw the Dr. this afternoon, we're not sure what treatment Indy will require.

In case you'd like to know what our previous entries to the injury files are:

2009 - Mac had hernia surgery, to reduce his nuts to the size of a normal 3 year old boy, from the size of a grown man. If he knew the difference, he would have been disappointed.

2010 - Mac, while demonstrating one handed bike riding at high velocity to his friends, lost control and broke both bones in his forearm.
**UPDATE** No surgery!! Yippee!! He's too young..no one will perform it on a kid...not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing?

Pinterest

I can willingly admit to not being on the "up & up"...slow to lag in the "digital/technology" world - and usually my sister and my husband (and a few other family and friends who shall remain nameless but know who you are) are usually pulling me along - forcing me to get with the program.  Tia has been on my case FOREVER to join Pinterest.com.  She keeps sending me these invites (almost as bad as the Facebook ones - don't waste your time with me).  However after much prodding, I finally jumped on board and made my first official "pin" under my FOODIE board.  I am so proud of myself.

I'd tell you to check it out but then I'd be as bad as her sending you invites etc... so I'll stop myself right here, and go help her decide on which bulletin board she needs to create for her kitchen, and try not to complain about the obvious fact that all those "pins" and "boards" make my eyes cross and roll back into my head.

**Here is where I must add that I "pinned" my first "pin" wrong...my sister had to point that out.**
