Disney Birthday Blowout

Author's note - this was written 2 days ago, but it has taken me this long to proof images...I forced myself to sit down amongst screaming kids to finish it NOW - you see I missed the conference call wrap-up last night (I was reading to Mac and passed out at 8:30pm...never EVER done before - and slept until 6am..binkied El and she's still sleeping!!! yippee) - oh wait...so I missed the conference call at 9pm and I've got to come up with something to get me back into Corleone's good graces - hoping this will help (the pictures not the editorial).

The 3rd annual Noble family Disney (Gpa Wade) Birthday Blowout.

Can you think of any better present to give yourself?? WE can't! We're thrilled that Gpa Wade has decided to gather his family in the happiest place on earth every year to celebrate turning one year older - of course he does have a way of "stacking the cards" in his favor - to ensure that everyone has the HAPPIEST time EVER.

You see Gpa Wade is a bit of planner. I may have mentioned this before, but lets just have a quick refresher. First we have the multitude of Christmas Eve events, Eagle Court of Honor's, 4th of July's, Church productions etc...the list could go on and on. The point is he plans (stacks the cards) so that he's guaranteed to have a good time...and everyone else as well.

Sure there's a bit of crazy (some might even go as far as to say OCD) planning, like the 5 conference calls leading up to the Disney deluge, or the insistence on the similar clothing (yes it took hours on the internet to find something for everyone and YES it did look good and everyone loved it when we were there), or the massive package of laminated name tags that we received prior to our trip so that everyone could mark their stuff (Tia figured that out too late). All of this might be perceived as "over the top" (and I didn't even include the laminated schedule cards that were handed out each morning!), however we, in the Noble family, just cuddle up to it like a warm snugly blanket :) You see we were able to spot each other in the park without looking like total dorks (he insisted that we couldn't wear the same exact shirt, just similar), and if you got separated all you had to do was check your schedule card to know where to find everyone. See? not crazy just stacking the cards.

We had a great time and managed to leave still wanting to do things next year. Its not an easy thing to spend 3.5 days with family and have everything run perfectly smoothe - Thank you Gpa Wade and Happy Halloween Birthday.

(In light of the deluge -my new word for the week- of images I'll refrain from adding my comments...I think they're pretty obvious...especially the ones of my brothers texting during rides and picture opportunities :)

Okay so I know I said I wouldn't comment...but just had to capture our 10th GPS purchased for this trip.

HOLY COW! If you made it through all of those then pat yourself on the back and go grab some leftover Halloween candy...you need a break!

Ella K - Havin' a great day

We have come so far.

I didn't think the day would come when we could say that (or sing it as Matt does :) So we got off to a rough start - she wasn't THAT bad, but I was witholding posting on her until she stepped it up in the sleep category. I mean c'mon girl...your brothers and sister were going from 7 till 7 at 12 weeks!! Here we are past 4 months and I'm still waiting. However, last night she did go from 7:30pm to 5:45am, got a few binky's and then we got up at 7am. I'll take that any day. She took a big nap this morning...and her mother is starting to view the world in a different light.

4 MONTH Milestones:
hmmm...
-rolling
-chewing on hands, a lot
-talking
-smiling
-sleeping (kinda)
-OH! and she found her feet :)

STRESSED...DESSERTS

STRESSED is DESSERTS spelled backwards
STRESSED is DESSERTS spelled backwards
STRESSED is DESSERTS spelled backwards
STRESSED is DESSERTS spelled backwards
STRESSED is DESSERTS spelled backwards
STRESSED is DESSERTS spelled backwards
Okay...actually I'd be lying if I didn't add that right now...its ANYTHING spelled backwards or forwards or upside down or whatever...

Holy cow...what is it about the approaching holiday season that sends everything into a complete tailspin?? True...I did just spend a week in sunny california with my family at Disneyland having a blast...only to come home, unpack and repack to take Mac down to PCH for his surgery. We all survived and everything went smoothely, but man the stress is building with the approaching holidays...seriously - why do we have to dress our kids up like 50 times BEFORE the day of Halloween? Next year I'm boycotting...I'm in too deep this year to pull out.

Fall Break

It's a love/hate with fall break, spring break, summer break. Let's get the BAD out of the way:

-4 kids home all day
-everyone bails on vacation and leaves us
-vehicle was in the shop getting brakes fixed...so 2 days without vehicle, and needed some things for dinner club from grocery store

GOOD:
-no one had to get dressed, showered or be fed at specific times (except the babe) - in fact no one had to do those things at all!
-the few stragglers that stayed behind went with us to the skate park and we had a good time
-fed everyone left overs 3 nights in a row and didn't do dishes (BAD - husband complained about smell and left doors open on his way to work)
-warm enough to leave doors open in the morning :)
-put a backpack on my kids and made them walk to the grocery store and haul groceries home with me :) (indy would say this should go in the BAD category)
-finally cleaned my house and went with my husband to see a movie withOUT a baby

Took McLaren to the pumpkin patch with his preschool class the week before. We had a great time...and some of my friends even let me take their picture (TRUE they didn't give me permission to post them....but hey! what can they do about it now??)

Oh how I DESPISE soccer socks

Or any other athletic sock. In fact I really don't care for uniforms in general, unless they come in double. My parents gave Indy his Cub Scout uniform for his birthday and it came with 2 of everything...I never have stress on Cub Scout day because I know we won't be turning the house upside down looking for ONE sock.
Soccer on the other hand - we had one game...that was it...one game where we had a complete uniform. I have no idea what happened between the field and the laundry, but only ONE sock made it out. Talk about a nightmare. AND of course we can't just have all the kids in black socks...no we had to get bright yellow. So I combed the city to buy every pair of bright yellow soccer socks - I found 2. Then I bought some black ones. I can rest better at night.

Indy got to play against his buddy Justin's team...Justin's team was really really good.
We'd like to forget that this particular match ever happened...but the shot I got of the both of them showed Indy working hard...and then of course he needed some powerade.

Roll Over

There were 4 in the bed and the little one said "roll over...roll over".

And she did.

Then her brothers thought she needed some coaxing with fuzzy hand puppets.

NUT Doctor.

I can't get the chipmunks song "witch doctor" out of my head...you know the one that goes "oo-ee-oo-ah-ah..."...anyway we sing a lot of songs around here and the "nut doctor" song is just one of them. Mac knows that he has to get his nuts checked and because of that he's not allowed to wrestle with his brother lest he burst a teste - (this threat has yet to work.)

While we were in the waiting room of the pediatric urologist at Phoenix Childrens, McLaren shouted, at the top of his lungs, "MOM - when do I get to see the NUT DOCTOR?" Be careful what you tell your children...be real careful.

So I debated about posting a drawing of Mac's predicament - a very simple drawing showing a lopsided "W", but was frowned at by my chaste (hmmmm) husband. Then my cousin suggested just posting the "squirrel" picture (DAVID - he said you'd know exactly what he was referring to) but Matt said no. So I'm just posting to post - to remember, without a visual, of our most hopeful desire to help carry on the holdsworth name...to make sure that the possibility of grandchildren is still present. And to remind us that Mac is not as "well-endowed" as we have all thought :) Surgery will be at the end of this month.
