Friday-Saturday {Recap}

Holy cow...I'd better get this information put down before another weekend comes and goes. Its not easy to get this stuff down when you're bedtime is nearing midnight! I normally would've glossed over it, but it contained some note-worthy events AND a few #5 "Year of Mother" moments that MUST be documented - its what gets us through these crazy times.

The first May "Year of Mother" moment happened on May 1st...Sweet!! I get a whole month to cruise now :) at least for Indy. I went and helped out at his school's Pioneer Day. Actually - they didn't really need my help, so I just followed Ade around, she was in charge of Indy's group. They started out on a nature walk and had a little talk about a Yavapai Indian girl and all the things she would encounter on a walk home.

Then we went over and made some cobbler and biscuits...Ade and I weren't smart enough to read the schedule right...so the kids never got to try the cobbler...I was okay with that since the lid was being put down in the dirt...hmm...

Concentrating maybe??

Ahh...here's the real look of concentration...complete with tongue sticking out. They learned how to do some weaving.

And make some candles...

Indy thought it looked like a "tear" and acted accordingly.

This next picture is sub-par in terms of image quality, but its with Jacob's gma...and we like her. She was brave enough to take two boys to CrackerJacks :)

Indy gave his doll a haircut, put a mad face on him and named him "Elijah" and told me he was a slave.....nice.

I think there's mild disgust registering on her face...maybe its the dirty pants?

Instead of packing our lunch...I picked up Arby's. It was too much to add one more thing onto the day...AND I let him come home early instead of having to go back to school...such a nice nice mother eh???

Saturday we all headed down to the Valley. The kids got to go with Uncle David to the Childrens Museum, but the real highlight was the fire cheetos and slushies they got afterwards. Matt and I were able to attend Tanner's temple session and see him off as he leaves for his mission to Indianapolis, Indiana. He'll be a great missionary. I have this memory of him at a young age setting up his 4yr old sister's folding chair when we all went dove hunting at like 5am. It will be forever burned in my memory as an example of his thoughtfulness and caring demeanor. After the temple we went and had a blast in the back room of Old Chicago...the kids dogpiled on eachother until they were in tears. Then we took our little crew and headed to the batting cages at CrackerJacks...but Laina and I were smart this time. We dropped the boys off and went and had our first-ever mom/daughter nail-painting outing. (#5 Year of Mother for Laina ;) She was absolutely speechless the entire time. She got flowers on her nails and toes and I don't think she moved a muscle the entire time. I got beat up by the massage chair, but a really nice pedicure. I'd just like to say that this next image is not easy to take a month and a half before delivering...she had to stand behind me :)

Now I've thought long and hard about McLaren's May "Year of Mother" moment and I think the free balloon from the grocery store and the treat counts...don't you?

I started busting up once I got to the part about Arby's. I don't know why...the girl staring in disgust at Indy--priceless, and I love Laina's little hand.
