if one has not DINED well." (Virginia Wolfe)
I saw this quote on a magazine at our hotel in La Jolla and thought it sooo defined ME and my philosophy on life and traveling and it definitely defined my weekend in LaJolla (although I should add "WORK well" to it :) When I travel, I am obsessed with focusing the trip around all the good places to eat (Matt could really care less as long as we eat at the appointed times of day to eat)...and La Jolla was no exception. I didn't get to take pictures of all the places but here are a few :)
(Hotel "La Valencia"...yea we were totally out of our league...but it was fun to pretend...couldn't afford the Saturday night rate because it doubled so we moved to a different hotel!)
It's a good thing I started out with something nice and healthy :)
'Cause this is where we ended up for lunch and OH....BABY...was it killer! Highly recommended :)
They'll even squirt the seagulls away! (look closely at the end of the water trail...)
Funky sister...dressed to hit the shops and more shops and more shops and...you get the picture...
Ridiculous (in a really good way) brother in law...
I would've been really really mad if the seagulls had gotten this baby...
or this...(here's your food pic Tia--did I forget to send them? :)
4 words: Lemon blueberry marscapone cake (which I ate all of before I even got back to share with everyone! and before I took a picture!)
Me in all my glory-
Connor in all of his...for Indy
for Matt in all his glory
(he went to 2, I only had to go to 1 :)
for Indy...(and the answer to Indy's favorite player: Burnsie baby...) nice try uncle David...I assume those were all Dodger names???
At the end of the game...and before the fireworks...these heads plopped down in front of us...I swear I had my camera focused on them for 10 minutes just waiting for them to turn around!!
After listening to about 3 mariachi songs to the grand firework show of red, white and green, I turned to Matt and told him that it must be "Viva Mexico" night at the Padres because this is just way too much to be normal!! (That would explain all the "Mexico" shirts being shown on the digi-tron) and here I thought they were just trying to please the crowd and avoid riots...
And now we'll end this jaunt into Southern California with a little beach baby....
She cracks me up...
But I do love this one!
I have no idea why I hopped on his back...whatever.

You look great in the picture I took! You were just being fun and playful with your husband. Isn't that what they want?
That last picture looks like an engagement picture!
Looks like a great vacation. I want a vacation like that. I think the last picture is cute.
I think that Orange drink is really a Mimosa... and shame on you for no pic of the Lemon-Blueberry Marscapone Cake... but I loved seeing pics of what fun you had in such a hip and beautiful place like La Jolla, I especially loved the last pic. AAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhh, Meg and Matty... in love.
